INTERNATIONAL COLLOQUIUM OF TRANSLATION
“TRANSLATION IN ALL ASPECTS WITH FOCUS ON INTERNATIONAL DIALOGUE”

Association of Translation in Turkey which brings translators, translation
bureaus and translation scholars together holds an International Colloquium on
October 21-23, 2009 in Istanbul on the occasions of
the 10th anniversary of its foundation and the 15th Anniversary of
Translator Training at Istanbul University, under the auspices of Istanbul
University with the theme “Translation in all Its Aspects with Focus on
International Dialogue”.
It is estimated that 300 participants consisting of translation studies
scholars, editors, translators, translation bureau owners and representatives of
translation organizations and other disciplines of universities, publishers,
authors, members of press and students will be attending the colloquium from 27
different countries that will be held in Istanbul University Beyazıt Campus.
Being one of the projects accepted within the scope of Istanbul 2010 European
Capital of Culture and found worthy of being supported, we believe that this
intercultural event and colloquium will bring prominent contributions to the
world of translation both in our country and worldwide.
We expect a considerable contribution from the circles of translation and
colleagues.

Colloquium Events Programme
Welcome Cocktail: It will be held on the first day
of the Colloquium, 21 October 2009 Wednesday in Istanbul University.
Intercultural Dialogue Cocktail: It will be held on the second day of the Colloquium, 22
October 2009 Thursday in French
Palace by Institut Français
d’Istanbul.
Bosphorus Tour with Boat:
A boat tour with dinner will be held by Colloquium
Coordination Committee on the last day of the Colloquium 23 October 2009, Friday
night for our participants and guests.
Istanbul City Tour: For our guests staying after the Colloquium, a
shopping and Istanbul
tour will be held on Sunday, if requested half a day Istanbul tour will be held for early leaving guests on
the second and third days of the Colloquium.
